This aged brick commercial building in Newstead, one of Brisbane’s older business districts, is being gradually revived by its owners, the Swimming Pool & Spa Association of Queensland. Like the many residential projects we work on, the building has undergone both internal and external improvements to make it more aesthetically pleasing from the street and more comfortable and practical for its occupants. During the past few years, we have undertaken several separate renovation projects. These include completely reinstating a timber floor suffering severe subsidence; enclosing and roofing the external fire stairs to enhance the overall appearance of the building from the front entry to the car park; extensively refurbishing the foyer and conference and training rooms; and adding front timber panelling.
